This is a list of activities for kids in the age group 0-3 years. I feel that activities are so important for thr kids. It keeps them engaged, entertained and also helps to exploit their true potential. Activities improves their concentration, focus, emotional intelligence, creativity and the communication skills. Activities are the best way to teach our children.
It’s very important to introduce our children to activities. The first toy that I got for my son was an activity table and a few teethers. He still loves to use the table.
As a first time mom it is normal to get overwhelmed by the plethora of options that are available in the market. I have made a list of 101 different activities that you can use for your child. Abacus
Abacus is a good way to introduce your child to the concept of counting in a fun way. Kids love colours and beads. This encouages them to learn counting in a more interactive way. Good for kids in the age group 1.5 – 5 years.
Alphabet Beads
This is the best way to introduce your child to the letters of the English Alphabet in an interactive way. The colours and the 3 D pieces makes learning letters a lot of fun. Make sure you are around your child when you play with these pieces. Good age group 2-5 years.
Baby Jumper
Baby jumper allows mothers some free time to finish errands around the house and also encourages the child to sleep. This is a fun toy and most kids love it. Some people avoid using a jumper. However, this is a personal choice. I think it’s perefctly fine. I introduced my son to one when he was just 4 months old and he just loved it.
Baby Walker
Baby walker definitely encourages kids to walk quicker and also helps to build the muscle strength in their legs. My son started to walk a few weeks before his first birthday and I think it’s because I gave him a walker when he was just 9 months old.
Bath Toy
Bath toys are a lot of fun and they make bath an interesting activity. Most kids love toys during their bath time. Age 0- 5 years.
Blocks
Blocks are so important. They encourage creativity, structure and hand-eye co-ordination. I make sure that we spend some time with blocks everyday. Age: 9 months – 8 years.
Board Books
Picture board books are a great. This helps improve your kids vocabulary and also introduces them to the objects around the. I have been showing my son board books since he was just 3 months old. Age: 3 months – 3 years.

Teething toys reduce the pain that the babies go through by providing a soft chewing surface, Must definitely get some of these for your child.
Bouncy Seat

Bumpy balls encourages grasping skills and hand eye co-ordination. This is a great toy for kids. Age group: 6 months – 3 years.

Colouring books is good for kids. Give them a plain surface to scribble. This encourages creativity and imagination skills. Also improves grasping. Age: 2 years and above.

Crib mobiles are very important. They calm and sooth the baby. Crib mobiles also encourages sensory interactions in new born babies. Age 0- 1 year.

Stickers help develop pincer grasp skills and are so much fun. You can also teach your child new words with the help of stickers.

Press, touch and feel books are an amazing way to make your children fall in love with books. They are like a kid’s best friend. Age: 3 months – 3 years.

My son definitely loves kinetic sand the most. It’s the best sensory material for kids. Age: 2 years onwards.

Lego is definitely my top pick. It is amazing in so many ways. Encourages creativity, patiences, following instructions and hand eye co-ordination. These are super interactive and engaging. The more you play the better you get at it. It is just so much fun.

Magnetic toys improve fine Motor Skills and hand eye co-ordination – As your child puts pieces of magnetic toys on the various surfaces they are learning about spatial awareness, hand eye co-ordination and developing fine motor skills in their hands and fingers.
Matching and Memory Game
Matching and memory games improves critical thinking, attention to details and visual recognition. You have to introduce your children to these games.

These seats are super comfortable and most kids enjoy sitting on these soft plush toy seats. Encourages the kids to sit and have a good time. My son just loved it and I can never forget the smile on his face, everytime I put him on the seat.
Pop Up Surprise Toys
I have never seen a kid who doesnt love these pop up surprise toys. They are super interactive and fun to watch.
Ring Connect
Ring connect improves hand eye co-ordination, concentration and creativity. Great toy for sure.

Shape sorters improves the children’s fine motor skills and problem solving skills. Introduces them to different shapes and colours.

A combination of audio and video works like magic. Most kids fall in love with these books. If you kid is not showing a lot of interest in reading then make sure you get a sound book for him/her.
