Top 10 Books That Will Definitely Help Your Child’s Growth

I would like to share the list of Top 10 Books that will definitely help your child’s growth.

This list is for kids between the age of 0-5 years. The list is not in any order of preference.

READING aloud to your child, living the story, painting a picture with words, and sharing ideas about the book is extremely important.

Through hearing stories, children are exposed to a wide range of words. This helps to build their vocabulary and improve their understanding when they listen. They might not understand the whole story or make complete sense of it. However, they tend to pick up words and start to link them with images.

Repetition is best to ensure your child retains more. With every animated rendition that you give, more often than not your child picks up some new word or sound.

BRIGHT BABY TOUCH AND FEEL BOOKS BY ROGER PRIDDY

I exposed Veer to books at a very early age.  He was only 4 months old when I bought this set from Amazon. I used to show him the images and read out the words to him. This is a very good exercise. We often think that they are too small and that they don’t really care. However, children are very intelligent and we must never underestimate that. Veer started speaking pretty early and to my surprise he could recognize a lot of things from these books already. I did not have to teach him the names of fruits and animals at all when he started to speak. He already knew all of it since he had been seeing it since he was a kid. Veer is three now and we still love to go back to our board books now and then.

CONCLUSION

The best way of reading books with young children is to have fun together. If children are engaged and enjoying themselves, they are learning. There are many perks that come from reading books, the most important being that it increases their creativity and understanding of things around them.

I usually buy 8 new books each month. Spend on an average 2000-2500 INR each month on books. We start two new books every Friday and read the same books multiple times during the week. Usually try to select 8 books by the same author or series each month.  This makes it very interesting and helps the child to grow and link to the different things that the main character does in the various stories. You can have your own method in place.

I am sure that you and your child will have a wonderful time with these books. They are all simple, fun and easy to read. Wish you happy reading.
